"Poor people with low morals... but no offense."

I am trying not to let the angry Momma bear come out, I am trying to remain objective and level headed... I'm trying. Here's what happened...
My son has finally made a friend with a boy who lives not too far from our house. This little boy has been to our home, our son has been there and I never noticed anything out of the ordinary.
The other day my son came home from his friend's house and admitted to breaking a few beer bottles at their house. He said his friend said that there was gold at the bottom of the bottle so they went ahead and smashed the bottles. Well we gave him an ear full, told him about making good choices, etc, etc...
We ended up calling the other family to assess the damage and were informed that it was a 18 pak of unopened beer bottles. The boys were smashing them against the side of the house..... all 18 beer!!
The mother of this boy went on to say how her son is attracted to kids from poor families where there are poor morals. She said he likes to be around wild kids, but no offense. I think I have just been insulted on a few levels here.... yes I am offended!!
Anyway my husband tried to keep me on track, keep me focused on the fact that our son needs to take responsibility for his actions, so we headed to the liquor store for a gift certificate, and then to his friends house to issue an apology. My little guy did great, looked the adults in the eye and apologised for destroying someone else's property and for the extra work he caused when they had to clean it up. He handed over the booze card and we left.
Not bad for a boy from a poor family with low morals....

Funny Friday

Jacob came up to me and hugged me the other day, he then grabbed my tummy and said, " oh, I love this belly, it's so scrumptious, it reminds me of play dough." What can I say....???

Jacob

Today my littlest man is 6 years old. It's hard to believe it's been 6 years already. When I look at Jacob I now know what sweetness looks like in the flesh. My little boy, who really isn't so little anymore, has a heart that loves and accepts people just as they are. He loves doing things for the people he loves. If daddy has a headache Jacob gets a cold cloth and turns all the lights off so daddy will feel better. When I was pregnant with Samara he would massage my back and help me put my socks and shoes on. He offers to change Samara's diaper and does all he can to make her laugh. His older brother means the world to him, even when they fight he is so concerned that Noah and him make peace before bed and he drinks in any affection his brother will throw his way.He is a sensitive boy who thinks deep thoughts and has lots of questions about this world and why things happen.
Jacob loves with his whole heart and because he loves like this he also gets hurt very easily. He is a shy boy until you get to know him then his crazy, wacky, loving personality shines and he is a people magnet. This is a little boy who enjoys being silly and making people laugh. He strives for peace in a sometime chaotic house. His laughter fills our house on a daily basis, he is quick to forgive, quick to give hugs and kisses and always ready to tell you he loves you. This little boy stole my heart 6 years ago and he is treasured beyond words.
My biggest wish for him is that he continues to be his sweet little self. That the tenderness that is in his heart towards his family, friends and God will grow and mature. I also pray for wisdom for him as he navigates his way through this world, that he would be protected, guided and inspired to reach his full potential.
I love my Jacob. Happy Birthday to the sweetest 6 year old I know!

I couldn't help myself

About a week ago my son came home from school to inform me his bike was taken. He had forgotten to lock it up so some hoodlum nabbed it.
Yesterday he came home to tell me he saw his bike at school at lunch recess and when he went to bring it home after school was out that it was gone, again. Well now I am on the look out, I thought maybe today I would head to his school at lunch and bring his bike home, I didn't want my 7 year old to have to tangle with a kid much older then him. So my plan was set and ready to go.
I was on my way to see the doc yesterday after I had spoken to my son about his bike. As I am driving away I notice a bunch of bikes laying on the front lawn of an apartment building. I notice a bike that looks like my sons, so I pull a fast u-turn and get out and look at the bike, sure enough it's Noah's bike. So I grab the bike, haul it to my mini van, throw it in the back and take off.
What a rush!!!! I mean honestly what was I supposed to do??

I'm no June Clever ( Cleaver) ... and I can't spell... LOL

I can't get organized. I try, I really do, even my husband will say to me how I am always busy but not a whole lot gets done. Some days I honestly wonder if I have adult onset ADD. Well, maybe I am joking a bit about that but I know I am spinning my wheels in this house and I am frustrated by it.
I have a feeling of utter amazement and frustration when I go to some people's homes who have kids running all over the place and the house is tidy and organized. HOW DO YOU DO IT??!! So I am asking all you organized ladies, or men out there, please give me some tips that you have found have worked. I am a sponge WANTING some tips to maximize my time and efforts.
Looking forward to some great tips!!!
