I'm no June Clever ( Cleaver) ... and I can't spell... LOL

I can't get organized. I try, I really do, even my husband will say to me how I am always busy but not a whole lot gets done. Some days I honestly wonder if I have adult onset ADD. Well, maybe I am joking a bit about that but I know I am spinning my wheels in this house and I am frustrated by it.
I have a feeling of utter amazement and frustration when I go to some people's homes who have kids running all over the place and the house is tidy and organized. HOW DO YOU DO IT??!! So I am asking all you organized ladies, or men out there, please give me some tips that you have found have worked. I am a sponge WANTING some tips to maximize my time and efforts.
Looking forward to some great tips!!!

I am organized, but I don't always get a lot done either. It helps that my kids are gone the whole day, so there are not constant messes being made anymore.

I mark on my calendar at the beginning of the month all my chores. I only do certain things on certain days (ie., clean bathrooms on Friday, mop on Wednesday, etc.) Some things I only do once/month, like clean mirrors/windows. I feel some accomplishment when the day comes and I can cross it off.

I also throw away mail and newspapers the same day it arrives because I dislike clutter. I plan a week's worth of meals when I get the grocery ad.

everything in moderation jody... *wink wink*

i have the kids running everywhere part down. and we're even fairly tidy....but it's a false front. organized---that's my goal.

Hahahah... you KNOW that I'll be tuning into the comments on this one, cause I really got nothing to add to the conversation!!

I hear you about the Adult ADD. I took a test online (on "teh internetz" -- surely it was a real medical diagnostic, was it not???) and it said I totally have it.

Go figure.

get the book "Sink Reflections" by The Fly Lady but get ready to feel like you don't measure up....get yourself all scheduled out and geared up then forget about it, let it go and don't worry about it!!!

Great advice, huh? With four kids, tons of laundry, homeschooling duties...you can imagine that I don't get a lot done.

The MAIN thing that has saved me is that we don't have that many toys. My kids have plenty of "junk" to play with but we have simplified...they don't have to have everything ever made by Fisher Price!

Also...they have responsibilities and I don't ever do things by myself...it's a group effort (part of school really) when we fold/put away the laundry, clean the sink/dishes in the washer, etc. They swipe the toilet lids, clean the mirrors, dust, etc...NO....they aren't always up to my standards of cleanliness but they're learning and hopefully when they're teenagers I won't have to stress about a messy house and picking up after people.

By the way...my house is tidy about 15% of the month only!!!!

HA.....but I have realized over the past few months that my house is my "domain" and I should take enough prided to keep it clean, picked up and laundry off the couch as much as possible....I am striving to make it "presentable" so when Brandon gets home it doesn't look like a tornado greeted us.
